I really don’t think you can generalise this question. You need to take each account and ask why it happened. However generally speaking, I would say there is no need for an affair – why not talk about it or just walk away from the relationship before you have an affair. Affairs are for gutless people who don’t have the courage to stand up and speak about what is missing for them in the relationship. As a “victim” I would say that the first time is the hardest – if he / she has done it once and been forgiven, it will probably happen again. Good luck..
